How EUR/USD pip value is calculated
On EUR/USD (the Fiber), one pip is a 0.0001 move — the fourth decimal place of the EUR/USD rate. The dollar value of that pip depends only on your position size, because the pair is quoted in US dollars.
The formula: pip value = position size × pip size. For one standard lot (100,000 EUR) at today's rate of 1.14194, that works out to about $10.00 per pip — $1.00 for a mini lot, and $0.10 for a micro lot.
Knowing your pip value is the first step of risk management: a 30-pip stop-loss on one standard lot puts about $300.00 at risk. If that number is bigger than you expected, size down — not the other way around.
